[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Two young ladies out for a walk on the Mt Iron Track after the fog lifted and left a gorgeous hoar frost. From the top of Mt Iron you have uninterrupted 360degree views of the Wanaka Basin. The track is much used by both locals and tourists as it is very close to the township and takes around an hour to complete. Will post some shots from the top next time I get a rush of blood to the head and make the trek up there - it was late afternoon and would have been dark by the time I got back down again.

This looks freezing but the girls are carrying their coats!!
Great shot Ali, it sure looks strange to me - I don't think I have ever seen a hoar frost before.
The colours, especially the red, look so good against the unsaturated-like bush.

Hello Ali, Welcome along to Treklens..

Luckly the girls were wearing red, which brings this photo alive.

Hoar frosts, something us Aucklands are not familiar with, I have heard of it, but never seen it for real.

I did see some amazing shots on the news the other night of a hoar frost in Central Otago..simily beautiful.

The Mt Iron Track, must be awesome to walk along with the views of Wanaka and the surrounding area.
