[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in one of the old historic whitestone buildings in Oamaru.
This chap heads the Historic Trust that is striving to save these beautiful examples of Victorian architecture.
I did'nt get his name unfortunately, but he is a real character, who is so enthusiastic about the project.
His little dog is almost blind and totally deaf, but seems happy enough to follow his master around.
The shot was taken inside a wide cartdock area that was open both ends.
The light was what fascinated me the most.

I agree with you Peter. The light is very nice here, almost soft!
Ye'r wee lad poses real nice f'r the picture too...
In fact, apart from these huge masks, I think the "room" fits this image very well...

All in all a good portrait of a man and his dog ;-)

Cheers,
Anneke

Well captured portrait of man and dog. Yes, the lighting is good - it hits the man and he and his dog stand out so well. Nice and sharp - it looks 'real' to me - good one Pete
Janice

Simply superb Pete. The light, as you say, was excellent and you captured the colour and detail well. Love that wee dog, a real scruffy terrier or some sort. TFS,
Dave

Many thanks for your comment on ‘My favourite shot’

Excellent capture Pete.
This guy reminds me of some people I used to flat with ... Graeme Cairns and other members of the McGillicuddy Serious Party in Hamilton.
This is a great portrait and the light is just perfect for it.
Very nicely done.
Cheers
Steve
