[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These jet boats operate in Shotover River Canyons in Queenstown NZ.
They weigh over 3.5 tonnes, carry 14 passengers with a top speed of 85k/hr and can operate in 10cm of water (thats 4" in old money)
Its a lot of fun and the guys that drive them are fantastic - they can spin the boat 360 deg on the spot.

The engines are built by CWF Hamilton in Christchurch.
The jetboat utilizes an impeller that draws water up an inlet on the boat and expels it at an incredibly high pressure to provide propulsion.

Waterjet units are extremely safe as there is no exposed propeller and can be maintained simply and quickly. It is also quiet, with no hull vibration or torque effect, making a ride in a jetboat very comfortable.
