Young stag above Queenstown

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a scan from a Fujifilm 100 negative taken around 1988.
The camera was a Canon A1 with a Tamron 70 - 300mm zoom.
It was bitterly cold that day, and I stalked this guy for half an hour, he would not let me get any closer.
This is the middle 50% of the frame.
That is not sky behind the stag, it is Lake Wakatipu
Please forgive me if I don't respond to you for a while, I'm slowly getting over an eye operation.
I'm having real difficulty seeing the keyboard at the moment.
I need more than REDEYE reduction ;) |

Hi Pete,
Well done with this considering it dates all the way back to 1988!! Looks like an oil-painting. Technology sure has progressed since then. You caught him at the perfect time, just as he was looking at the camera. Well done and all the best getting over your operation.
TFS,
Scott.

Excellent pose - it's a little soft and OOF, but we can't ignore the magnificent animal standing there on the hill, overlooking Queenstown.
Get well soon Pete - and don't strain your eyes

Just lay back and listen to talk back Pete..lol... and rest those eyes.
Great shot of the stag... for a film of over 20 years...and it dose kinda look like a painting..
Get better soon
Best wishes
Dawn
This reminds me of a water color painting! Good catch, I know how skiddish these guys are. Thanks for joining in on the theme!!
