On the Southern end of South Island is Te Anau. It is a small community perched on the side of this beautiful lake. From here you can take a boat to the far side of the lake to navigate a cave system which is famous for its glow worms. When you are in the heart of the cave system the lights are extinguished and within a minute or so ones eyes adjust to the total darkness which is punctuated by the pin pricks of light emitted by the glow worms on the cave walls. It resembles looking up into a very starry sky and is a truly magical experience. I recommend it.
This shot was taken lakeside some time after a boat had pased.. (hence the ripples on the water)...
This is a truly tranquil place and one I will not forget.
Photo was scanned...(first time I have done this for TL)...and saved on the desktop to be imported into CS2
The quality of the scan loses a bit from the original and this has turned a bit more blue. The feeling of the shot remains true to my experience of the place. Those of you lucky enough to live in Southern NZ will hopefully verify what a great region this is.

It's a long, long time since I was down that way - but your shot here captures the essence of those parts. The peace, quiet, and emptiness ...
As far as making the transition from print to digital, yep, I have to admit it didn't quite succeed, that hill across the water is suspiciously blue! Even so, I like it.

Bonsoir Mike,
a note quite interesting for a landscape all carefully, all impresses great blue tonalities except this tree which still takes the last sunbeams. I like much this wrinkle on water.
