Another view of my Woodland Walk / AKA Bush Walk in NZ

This is the view when I looked left. Another step and we'd have fallen over this precipice. . .

My husband and I were driving from Kaikoura to Hamner Springs when we crossed over the 135 year old Waiau Ferry Bridge over the Waiau River and we decided to take a walk in the woodland – called BUSH in New Zealand.

What a view from the top, and we were so pleased we stopped.

At this bridge there is a Thrillseeker’s Adventure Centre.The centre is the departure point for bungee jumping,
white-water rafting
and jet boating trips.

The raft trips use self-bailing inflatables, which carry from 2 to 12 people and last 2½ hours.
The jet boat trip runs up to 30 km through narrow gorges and braided shallows with spectacular scenery.

We wanted to get to see this spectacular scenery and we weren’t disappointed.

They advertise this Centre as a unique one-stop adrenalin-pumping centre, which offers bungee, jet boating and rafting adventures from the same base. No we didn’t take a ride!!

Hi Janice,

such a beatifull piece of nature there...
Nice picture with great perspective.
I have been watching the composition, the tree centre (underside) makes a split in this picture.
You can crop the right side but then you miss the huge mountain... You probably made the right choice already!

Beautiful nature picture of that gorgeous landscape.
But eh...'Bush'? isn't it time to change that name ?
Maybe 'Woodland' sounds better ? haha

Ahh, gorgeous! A beautiful spot and so well captured. The composition works very well with the framing top and bottom by foliage of the distant bridge; there is effectively a band of 'interest' from right to left across the frame, too, and it is beautifully sharp and perfectly metered.

Hi Janice, whne I was there in 2004 I noticed many of the rivers with that huge expanse of sand. Another lovely image with the view nicely framed by the trees. Good colour and detail and that soft light such as we get here. TFS,

PS We have two varieties of possums here, one is protected the other is a source of pet food.

Superb landscape! With these mountains and river, we could believe to be in the Western part of Canada. Excellent composition, the branch frames naturally the image which has a good perspective. Very pleasant place! Bravo! Annie

another breathe taking shot, Nice landscape! wish I was there... I can see the bridge and the raft... very nice! It just give a WOW factor doens't it? I like your composition, very nice colours and just sooooo beautiful sky!
