Hi Fellow Trekkers
This one was taken shortly after our arrival to New Zealand. We spent our first two days in Auckland and then drove on our third day to the gorgeous northland. We spent three nights in Paihia.

This photo was taken after a really big thundershower. I really liked the way the clouds parted, revealling sunrays. Also there was a misty like clouds floating very low over the beautiful green hills. Unfortunately I cropped out much of the sky as the clouds made it look too white towards the top.

Anyways, if anyone knows how to fix exposure on clouds, then I could possibly change this to have more sky.

I purposely left the fence in as I feel it adds to the overal depth.

As always comments and critiques are welcome

Cheers
Jessica

Hi Jessica, the countryside is quite attractive up north, isn't it? A sister farmed in the Bay of Islands for many years and as a child I had every school holiday up there. Even now we often go visiting another sister in Kerikeri.
Your composition is good here Jessica - you are showing us the 1/3 sky and 2/3 land, and it looks perfect that way. The grass is very green, this was before the rains stopped and we had a draught up there.
I like what you show us here, thank you...
Janice

Beautiful, beautiful greens, Jessica! It has the look of a recent rain, and I love the "smoke" rising from the mountains, and as you said, the light breaking slightly through the clouds. And yes, the fence is very important to the composition.

Well done!
Gayle :)

Hi Jessica
Nice capture of countryside with good color composition. One third gray & two third green in this shot showing that you followed the ryle of third. Welldone

Hello Jessica,
Dramatic clouds hovering over this lush green landscape... Very pleasing image!
Good lines in the composition, the fence in front really makes this one!
Greetings,

Greenie in a sec! OK-

Hi Jessica,
Excellent shot! The composition is really good with the use of the fence in the foreground, and dramatic clouds in the distance. Exposure looks great with the nice saturated colors. Beautiful landscape!

:) Great shot, Jessica! That fence reminds me of my post called Hobiton! It seems they use the same fence all around NZ! :))
The green grass carpen looks really beautiful!
cheers

Gorgeous scene and a wonderfull shot. I like the compostion and the large view of greeness. No wonder "The Lord of the Rings" scenes are filmed in NZ . TFS, Giap.

Beautiful landscape Jessica, never been to New-Zealand but when I think of it that's exactly what I think of. Good atmosphere, good sharpness, and very good colors. TFS !

Very well composed, and great colour. Cheers.

beautiful picture Jessica. Your title sums it all: wonderfully green... Re: the exposure on the clouds; a neutral density gradient filter (0.3-0.9ND) is an effective way of holding back the sky while maintaining high exposure on the foreground. great job!

Hello Jessica!
Hope you had a pleasant journey in Middle Earth (^_^)
I wondered why I did not see that one before!
Normal we were in Cuba when you psoted it!
I am eager to see the others of your voyage!
Great composition. You add this keep the fence, otherwise the picture would have missed a subject in the foreground.
Cheers!
Robert

Beautiful landscape Jessica. Well lit and exposed. I like how you have captured the rays coming down.

TFS,
David
