Great POV, I like the spot of yellow in front to contrast the blue. Yes, taxpayers are always getting the short end of the stick, the lawmakers love to spend, don't they?

My suggestions for your picture:
Correct the perspective, cut the yellow part and increase the contrast.

I must admit that I agree with your sentiments. But it's a great use of repetition(not sure about the yellow running diagonally.
