This is a Citrus Swallowtail (Papilio demodocus). Isn't it a beautiful butterfly! Today was a great effort to step outside your 'comfort zone'. Well done! An excellent first attempt my friend!

Hey Dawn, super shot and you took much more than one good b'fly photo...

This Citrus Swallowtail (yes, I read Pam's notes!) is a stunner, and he did sit there on the leave for a long time - long enough for us all to capture. Well done my friend.

I think we sweated out a lot of excess weight today at that butterfly house sauna... But what an interesting place it was.

Excellent shot, love the sharpness and colours here, great DOF, even thought it look like it have a tiny bit of the noise but it addin a texture background... It is a fantastic job you done here my dear, very well captured, worth the hot flush... :D Thanks for sharing

So it was really a chalange for you to take a decent picture. Let me tell you a secret: You succeed! Excellent how this beautiful butterfly is captured my dear Lady! The BG crispy green colour is fine although a bit noisy (did you use Neat Image if not it can improve this wonderful photo even more?) Nevertheless a joy for the eye and gives me good feeling obout spring is on the edge. TFS my dear Dawn!

Very nice crisp and sharp macro. Excellent first attempt.

Composition: 8.5/10 (Subject positioning, crop, pov)

Creativity: 6/10 (Originality, usage of imagination, thinking outside the box)

It's a butterfly after all. ;o) But a good shot.

Rigor: 7/10 (Sharpness, Exposure, PP, Presentation,)

I suggest you apply the sharp on the butterfly only and not the leaves. Notice the apparent noise on the green leaves.

Exploitation of the light 9/10

Statement 8.5/10 (Ability of communicating an idea, a mood, a message with the image)

nice first shot, I tell u from my experience, shooting butterflies is a tough job. the sharpness has been increased so much that the picture has developed grains, (look at the background) should take care of that.TFS
