The return of the breathtaking Kim.

I'm a total fan of her unconventional beauty, her aura of coolness mixed with a hint of toughness ...

The idea here isn't new, but I wanted to try my own take on it, and Kim delivered beautifully in my opinion.

To those who commented on the workshop version - I've decided to post it as a separate shot, Kim - Sensuality. :) Thanks, Hugh!

Comments, observations and critiques appreciated!

The two angles works for me and this capture is very different to the normal one of making eye contact through the mirror. It works well!

Nicely done Rew. My youngest has been taking self portraits of herself against a mirror and some haven't been too bad. This is lovely. Kim definitely has an aura. Nice tones and good colour. TFS,
Dave

Hello Rew

Very good idea to take portrait, good composition, colours with sharpness, i also like your creativity. Nicely taken.

rajiv

Like both. Good light and exposure. Wonder what it would become if you stepped down to f/8. ALfred

It is amazing to see these beautiful smiles on the face. I really love this photo.

I really liked this on first glance. Then I saw the workshop and now this one just seems like a warmup for that one. But, actually, both are quite different. This one is a gentle and self-reflective. The other is sharp and much more like a fashion-shoot. Both are really excellent, though. You could have put them up as separate posts. Great work, Rew. I hope you get to do some more work with Kim. Best, -Hugh

I agree the ws is very stunning but this close up and personal shot is great as well. Great expression and like the reflection. Great work and beautifully captured. TFs

Hello Rew,

in the first moment I haven“t see that there is a mirror in the background. I thought thay are two girls :-) Funny!

Thank you for sharing this special work with us.

Best regards
Martin

Hello Rew, your choice of a large f-stop resulting in a slightly out of focus reflection works for me. I like the way it reinforces to the viewer the difference between Kim and her reflection. Nice skin tones, good contrast, great shot.

Regards, Roger.

twins Lol:)

Beautiful. you are right bro.

I was very impressed with the detail you captured in the mirror image, yet doesnot take away form your original subject.
Shows how well you where able to control your lighting for this shot.
Now I'll have to wait to see this former WS.
Wayne

Lovely smile! Excellent detail and textures, Beautiful light captured in her hair, eyes, and lips, and so sharp and clear (as always ;) ). I really like the use of reflection, the perfect amount of lighting and great the way her shadow on her face in the reflection brings out her actual brightly-lit face. Interesting how her face and expression look kind of different from different points of view captured. TFS!

ditto on this one! You have a great series going here!

Hi, Rew!
A beautiful portrait photo and mirror reflection. I like that close-up portrait - allows to focus on her beautiful eyes and smile! And I like the dark shadow between her real face and mirrored reflection - it's so natural..

Very well done work!
Thanks for sharing.

I have been away and I just got back three days ago. Looking at your gallery and what I missed. I like this picture the most because she seems to invite you through her eyes. It conveys a message to may mean many things to different viewers. A very good compo.
