This is a photo I took in the coastal town of Kaikoura in New Zealand's south island. Tourists flock to Kaikoura for one reason - it is one of the world's premier whale-watching spots. A deep ocean trough comes unusually close to the coastline here creating the perfect habitat for plankton. And where you get lots of plankton soup you get whales. Often the whales come so close to the shore that it is possible to sit on the beach and watch them surface and dive!
Anyway, this kayak has very little to do with whales unless you happened to be out in it when one surfaced but there you go - you leave a space for me to write notes at your own peril. Sometimes I may write something that could be considered useful, sometimes it'll be full of crap! ;)
No PP work done to this one except the addition of the frame.
Have a good day, whatever you're doing!

Richard, great photo! My guess is that it's the front of a kayak or canoe. I love the composition - it would look wonderful enlarged onto a big canvas on a dark wall. Technically, the only thing that grabs my eye is what I think is some chromatic abberation on the inner side of the lip. Very hard to avoid though!
