[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lucky recipient of a set of macro diopter filters for my birthday, this is one of my first test shots using +1, +2 and +3 stacked together.

A paua shell (pronounced paoh-wer) otherwise known as abalone has the most beautiful green, blue and pink tones and is often polished to make jewellery and other bits of bling.

Good morning Karen

Firstly congratualtions on your new macro filters, secondly (or maybe it should have been firstly) congratulations on this superb capture. Excellent colours and composition. It seems to me your filters along with your ability of course work extreemly well together.

TFS regards Helen

Hi Karen.
You have captured the colours excellent. Your DOF is slightly out as it is the holes in the paua that look to have the point of focus, I would have loved to have seen all pin sharp.
Congrats on getting macro diopter filters and giving it a go, you picked a wonderful subject.
Have lots of fun with them, the macro world is amazing as are these colours you have captured here.

Hi Karen
I like the way you have used a shallow depth of field.I'm not into abstract images, but this one makes me want to go out and have a go at at this type of thing.
cheers Russell
