Hi Jack,

What a nice idea! and it's really well performed, but..... you could have done an easier job by just selecting the areas outside the filter (and your fingers holding it) and blurring that area...
But ok... you chose to do it this way and I absolutely love the result!

G'day Jack,
You did a great job of an original idea.
Good on you for doing it, but Anneke is right, there are other more simpler ways to skin the cat.
I applaud you for the way you achieved the image...but one small detail.
Your horizon in the filter drops slightly right, while the blurred horizon tilts left. Both are an easy fix in PS.
Very well done.

There may be easier ways to achieve the result but no were nearly as satisfying. Terrific result, a big congratulations is in order for having the patience to do it, and another for the result.

Hello Jack,
great idea and good work. However I think the ships within the sharp part still look blurred due to movement and long exposure time. Maybe 1/500 at higher ISO would have helped.

Great idea on this shot. The finger in the shot really distorts the scale of this photo and I love it.
