[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A derelict workshop on the edge of the Waihi rail yard, the line disappearing toward Paeroa. Once a major route in the area, only a fraction of this line still exists for a tourist train - much of the rest is now a walkway.

Processing: A simple b&w conversion, and a panorama crop.

Hi Carl,
Super images in B&W. The B&W conversion makes it look older. Love it. TFS

Great capture Carl! Especially in the strong light, your metering is good and the sharpness and detail excellent. Good composition, the eye is led on through the frame by the rail track.

I don't know why but there is something irresistible about old railway tracks. The urge to follow them - to see where they lead - and to imagine the journeys, and the stories of people who travelled along them ... ah, my imagination is getting away on me now.

Hi Carl, beautiful B&W photo. I like the way you cropped that photo, and the leading tracks. we were suppose to go there quite few times, but never did yet.. Maybe we should! It looks interesting! ;)

Good dose of nostalgia here Carl. The monochrome is good for compositions such as this. Good POV, I like the rail lines leading the viewer back and beyond the derelict workshop. Good posting!

TFS, Martyn

Thats amazing! I love it! Your choice of B&W it a bloody good one aswell because i think it add to the oldness of everything in the shot. Also you have captured the lines really great as the railway line lures the eye away into the distance. Thats what every good landscape shot should have, something to attract the eye, not have the eye wondering around the photo. Great job mate! A+

ooh
I like this

The Urban decay and bleak industrial mood is very cool
Especially like that that you've got the railway going into infinity, in the picture :D

cheers
