These unusual gourds, pumpkins, and who knows what are part of the display at the Botanic Gardens.
Yesterdays post was right next to this.
The late afternoon light was beautiful.
Could only grab a shot when no-one was walking past creating shadows.
All part of the fun of our hobby/past-time:)

Hi Peter

Very interesting and impressive collection of veges captured here. An interesting visual feast of many shapes, textures, and colours. Great composition! TFS.

Martyn

Those veges must have only been grown to take photos of :) They look to strange to eat. Great colour and detail Dad, I like the textures and arrangement

Hi Peter,
Beautiful composition,very good light.
Best regards,
Ralf

hello Pete,

i love this colourful veggies.. eventhough they are alien looking they look good to eat.. i like to try cooking this veggies if me and i think soup with lots of ginger will be the good recipe for this type of veggies as they are the 'cold veggies'.

well capture here.. excellent composition and sharpness.. good work!

kind regards, terry

Hi Pete,
I just found this one and recognised some of the ornamental gourds I used to grow in my garden at Pirongia.
The big green one at the bottom is a 'prehistoric' gourd.
You can buy the seeds for them in the specialist seeds rack at Mitre 10
They need a sunny, ventilated and well drained spot to grow in and a fence, trellis or poles to climb.
They're pretty easy to grow and lots of fun ... just watch out for powdery mildew!
Cheers
Steve
