I thought there on your wife's hand I can see a white bracelet as we use in hospital to put on the the hand of a new mother.I really wanted to believe that was true....

If I had a penny for the number of times I have returned to this shot I would by now be a rich woman.. but who needs the money!

Absolutely haunting shot here, everyone has already mentioned the DOF and lighting ect... but what makes this image for me is the true photographer behind it. We can all point and shoot or point.. set the camera and shoot.. but a true photographic ability shows through here.. its not something that can really be taught.. it comes from within.. its seeing a view and knowing that that view shown in an image will move people and my friend you have such a talent for that I can only applaud you.

I am glad to read that all is well and that you had the courage to capture this shot.

Well you've certainly caused a lot of drama and aroused some intrigued reactions... You've posted a moving image that workes like a trigger for memories. Excellent focus!
I love Muse, but I always get too emotional when listening to it cause I remeber a dear lost friend. Some don't make it in the end...Glad your friend did! :)
