Another Angle of Murrays Bay
I’ve shown many photos of my beach but this is another angle of Murrays Bay taken as I walked along the walkway under the cliffs from Mairangi Bay, the closest beach to where I live, 1 km south of home.
I've zoomed in as far as I could with the 24-105 lens - I wished I'd had my bigger lens on that day!!
You can see the wharf that I have taken many photos of and also from it as well. It is used for recreational fishing mainly. Come summer, this is a very popular place for the children and many spend all afternoon jumping off the wharf – when the tide is in. Much to the dismay of the fishermen – no fish are around then!
The houses above the cliff get wonderful views along the East Coast beaches to Auckland and out over the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto and other islands.
Murrays Bay beach is a safe swimming beach for the family, and there is also a boat club for junior sailers in the Bay as well. Murrays Bay Sailing Club is a very well known club with good results in yachting competitions, both in New Zealand and overseas.
The sun was low and was due to set in another hour. The yachties were coming back to the beach after a day’s training on the water. And the air was getting quite cold.
And there were still fishermen on the wharf. |
