Winter has Arrived

Yes, it was the first day of winter here in New Zealand today, and this is the view from my front balcony at 9.15am this morning.

The day was warm and sunny, and, as you can see by the silver unruffled waters, there was hardly any wind here at Murrays Bay. . .

The predicted weather today was:

A few showers - We didn't have any of those!

Northwesterly winds - We had very light breezes.

High: 17° Low: 9° - It was really quite hot, except when the clouds came over the sun every now and then.

Don't you feel sorry for the weather-forecasters? They don't always get it right, do they?

Hi Janice,
Got your message it's 61 isn't it ;-)
Well excellent peaceful view with all those active people, it creates a fine mood like the light in this image, not too bright and still no underexposure. Wonderful shot my dear.

Over here they don't either, Janice ;o)
Summer will be coming soon, in season anyway, but I'm not sure if the summer weather will follow. Hey kiwi girl, if you call this image "winter" you sure have nothing to complain about LOL.

Hi Janice,

How nice this place . . calm water that able for people to enjoy it . .
Well composed . .

Tfs,
TJutjut

It does seem a bit odd to have such a lush, tropic-like scene with such a title as "Winter has Arrived", but then that's the view from here up north.
Nice shot Janice, as always, you're showing us how beautiful your part of the world is.
The shade works well here, not only because of the silhouette of all the people enjoying the bay, but to add a bit of coolness.
Well done.
Kind regards,
Jim
P.s. thanks for the tip about my entry today. I think I fixed it properly.

hi Janice
it's a known fact that the first day of winter (on calendar) is always the sunniest day in weeks...
good shot with great summer(!) atmosphere.

Hello Janice, Hard to believe it's winter. It's been a such a super weekend and no, we shouldn't take too much notice of the weather forecasters! This is a delightful scene from your balcony. Like the inclusion of the runner. TFS.

So far, the day have been good for me, at least when I have to go out, I am not socking wet... but the thing is the sun only come out when I am inside the mall... never mind, hope for the best for tomorrow...

Good shot my dear, it don't look like winter at all.. look more like spring morning... :D with all those outdoor activities going on. Good captured, :D

Have a great day,

Sweety
