I was not sure about this one, I think the forground is a bit dark. But liked the wave and clouds, so posted to see what you think.

Not much PP just sharpen and resize

Hi Tim,
Fantastic cloud formation and dynamic looking reflections. You've captured and composed this scene well. Image and overall contrast is also very good. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Tim,
I like it, the sand at Maori Bay is black, it looks right to me.
Stunning sky in the background.
Thanks for posting a different view of the bay, I've never actually been down on that beach. Must try it some day.
Pete.

The dark foreground makes a pleasurable contrast with the bright sky, so it's really a remarkable picture with all those clouds that it seems the end of the world is coming.
Good capture,
compliments,
Donato

P.S.
Maori bay is really worthwhile to be visited, do you know the splendid job that Ho posted on TE about it?

Hi Tim,

As usual you did great capturing beach . . you have such a great luxury to have plenty of lovely beaches . .
Weather is lately not compromising . .
Beautifully composed and presented while the big waves are coming in . .
Well done my friend

Tfs,
TJutjut

Hi Tim,
Fantastic and beautiful clouds,nice reflex.
Best regards,
Ralf

I love those cloud formations Tim. But I agree about the darkness - but that is what it is like in this wintry sunlight. Maybe a tad lighter might help, but still a pleasant scene.
I do note the curved horizon - that happens sometimes.
Cheers
Janice

Hi Tim,
Superb contrast! Excellent how you captured the reflection on the wet sand!
Kia ora.
Hans

Hello Tim,

I like your entire collection of beach shots. They are all wonderful. In this one you have caught the beach waves in pretty good. The sky looks fabulous. Only the rocks on the side looks a little dark.

Thanks
Somu

Hi Tim,
I love seeing New Zealand's photographed scenery. And your gallery has actually been one of my favourite page to enjoy the beauty of New Zealand.

A lot of drama, with great interest to talk about. Graphical impression - I could see a nice formed pattern created by the wave, leading my eyes to the wide open sea, then to the beautiful formation of cloud. Wonderful, I should say. The rock is another foreground interest. Color - nice cool, calming with those hues of blue. Beautiful, as you always do.

Regards,
Ramdan.

I really liked this, Tim. Horizon is a bit whacked but easily fixed in pp. I liked the darkness of the fg because it highlights the clouds which were just gorgeous. Ours won't be for another 3 months or so and the summer humidity leaves the area. TFS. Summer pics here are the pits except for very specific scenes like old buildings, etc.

I have to say I like the dark foreground - the eye is naturally drawn up to that spectacular horizon and the powerful billowing clouds. There's a danger in the jade green of the waves, too. Terrific shot.
