Last week I was trying to convert some of my sunrise/sunset photos to B&W but came out with pathetic results because without color it losses visual impact. So, early morning last Saturday, I specially went to New Brighton Pier (Christchurch's water landmark) and took some sunrise photos more appropriate for B&W. Hope you like it.

You've done a good job here, Renier. The POV works very well indeed, using the railing like that was a nice touch and it leads our eyes nicely through the shot.

I think b/w has worked well, makes the whole scene more dramatic. The figures break up the scene very nicely and add further overall interest. Good shot.

EXCELENTE IMAGEN TE FELICITO, SALUDOS

Hi Reniere.
I like jetty photos such as this. It is similar to one at Wynnum a bayside suburb of Brisbane where my brother lives. The symmetry of this and POV makes it striking. TFS. Murray.

Outstanding photo.

I love the drama and the POV that leads us into the rest of the picture. Excellent details, tones and lighting.
Well done job.

Hi Renier

A dramatic tonal range in the sky, with good lead in lines, and diminishing linear perspective, added by the receding lines of the pier, in this superb b&w image. Tfs!

A perfect example of how the thirds rule can go out the window! Where the sky is as important as the gtound! LOVE the railing leading me right into this shot Renier! Your silhouettes are super sharp! Excellent work!

Hello 'Bai,
The clouds beautifully drape the whole scene. Effective use of the plank as a lead-in element. There is good sharpness on the railing, and the inclusion of people adds to the ambience. Greetings! Danilo

Hi Renier,

Wow!! What a photo. Excellent choice of b&w, enhancing graphical effect. The sky looks drammatic and you were lucky to have this couple there. Magnificent work.

Great pov mate. Bravo!
Dennis

A little lighter in tones than some in your gallery Renier but teh darker strip of the baordwalk breaks that up. A good POV with a strong lead in.
