[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Piha Beach is situated on the West Coast of the North Island, 28 kilometers west of Auckland. The beach is famous for great surfing and regularly holds national and international surfing championships.

The beach is a black volcanic sand beach and the surrounding volcanic rock and native bush make Piha a must see destination for visitors to New Zealand

Hi Tim,
Impressive seascape with fantastic reflections! The movement of clouds gives a great perspective and dynamisme at the image. The neutral coloured harmony is so clear and sharp.

What I like most here in this picture is the look we get on the black sands of the beach... it shows very well that the beach is very long, wide and shallow.
I do like the shallow waters here...
All in all I think you did a fine job on the light.
Since I have been in Iceland I know how difficult the light can be with the combination of black sand and a bit of clouds or even a bright sky!

Amazing work here Tim, the diagonal line of the shore balances nicely as it sweeps around to the horizon! Love your tones here! I just love HDR!

I really like the angle of the foam that is sitting on the water in the foreground. I think it helps to draw me into the photo further. The glass like smoothness of the water is also very nice. TFS

Bonsoir Tim,
A beautiful beach so peaceful, a look when shelter in the background much more turbulent waves off. The foam of the wave just die at your feet and superb reflection of this rock that reminds you that shows us a landscape that was volcanic, your note is interesting. The harmonies of color are really very beautiful. A wonderful done, congratulations

Most HDRs look a little contrived, but this is a beauty. That is West Coast sand alright, and the cliffs and sky look natural. Well done.
