A photo stop looking out over Piha a popular surfing beach and coastal settlement in northern New Zealand. It is a also a major day-trip destination for Aucklanders.

Hi Patricia,
What a "delicious" view. Great well balanced composition with a nice diagonal line. But....the horizon isn't fully level and there is a slight haze particular the rock. Made WS for you. Anyway I still like this image nicely framed too!

I know exactly where you stopped to take this photo Pat - I think everyone stops at this place... Another perfect composition :)
The beach looks quite empty - in another month or so I can imagine how busy it will get.
The haze from the surf seems to be covering the Lion and distant Head, make them a little unclear to see. But the cabbage trees are nice and clear.
The colours are good with the blue sky shining on the sea.

Looks like a beautiful painting Patricia,great coastline.
The sky is playing a vital part,and i agree with you,although the noise reducing in that sky could be a fraction better.

Hello Patricia,

N.Z. is a country of amazingly beautiful places and scenery. I never tire of seeing new locations. What a pity it is so far away!!
I like your composition, with the natural vegetation creating an interesting border and the beautiful colours really titivating the eyes.
Hans is right about the horizon, but it is no big deal and easily corrected.

Thgis is strange, I really thought I did add my critique here. Never mind.
This picture is like a painting, must be all those shades of blue and the green making a diagonal at the right side.
Another good destination for your weekend trips then - would love it.
