Blue on Blue

The blue sky seemed to be the same colour as the tank.

This is a very photographed area in Auckland – its part of an old storage area on Auckland's waterfront called Tank Farm. The tanks are to be dismantled as part of the redevelopment of the Auckland waterfront.

The large-scale (35 hectare) reclaimed area is a landmark close to the central business district and surrounded by water. It is a prime piece of real estate that everybody owns, and it is finally getting a clean up.

For decades, since 1925, Tank Farm on Auckland’s waterfront housed:

Oil and lubricant storage tanks
petro-chemical,
bulk liquid,
fish and marine industries.

Hi Janice / Kiwi bird

Good sharpness, & nice warm cold colour contrasts between the yellow railings & blue sky & paint. Wonderful lines, & a good abstract image, with superb repetition of geometric patterns & shapes. Have a nice weekend!

En effet, la continuité entre le tank et le ciel n'est coupée que par les plaques des tôles et le jaune des balustrades. Ce sont d'ailleurs elles qui donnent la "lecture" de la photo, compréhensible grâce à leurs courbes, même si les éléments de décor sont présents au minimum.

I like this - it's extremely simplistic but seems very effective. The poles look nice and sharp, with the blue paint and sky looking smooth and flawless. Well cropped too.
