African Daisy, South African Daisy, Cape Daisy and Blue-eyed Daisy.
Osteospermum

This is the yellow Osteospermum, 'Lemon Symphony'.The flowers are now just beginning to appear in my garden. Whenever I pass it I feel like I want to take a photo of it. Brilliant, isn’t it? The petals are still opening. . .

Osteospermums are a very popular daisy originally from Africa and now grown world-wide. It is a summer-flowering plant with flowers like daisies that bloom in white, blue and shades of pink and yellow. They all have a ring of dark contrasting colour right around the centres, which I find really attractive.

It has been given several common names: African Daisy, South African Daisy, Cape Daisy and Blue-eyed Daisy.

They are eye catching plants and are ideal for growing in dry, problem areas. This is the first year we have ever grown them at home, and they seem to have settled in okay. I like how they always have their sunny faces shining up towards the sky.

Wonderful work, dear Janice !

best regards,

Lovely work Jannie! Nice softness to this shot. Looks like you guys are in full bloom! We still have flowers and will have until the first freeze. Did you soften the edges? Very pretty shot!

Hi Janice

I like the blue, yellow, blue colour scheme in this superb floral macro. Good dof & sharpness on the flower & well composed. Have a great weekend!

Really nice Janice. I've grown this variety of Osteo in my garden also.
The composition of this shot is really nice, and the colors are great too ... love the gradient of color throughout the flower.
have a nice weekend Janice.

Hi Janice,
Our flowers are on their end, yours are beginning! This is the wheel of seasons in action sharing with balance the pleasures of Nature!
This photo is splendid!
Your very effective DOF gives an beautiful softness at the flower. I like much the contrast with this luminous yellows against the deep tones in background.
Bravo! Annie

I love Cape Daisies but don't grow them.

There is a pleasant softness to this shot which I like.

Well done.

Boa tarde Janice,
That's a fine artwork. Great harmony in composition, nice FP and BG. Very special POV, lighting, focus and frame.
Saudações,

Janice I think everything that can be said has already been used. I had wondered the same thing as Linda (shelbeesmom) re the edges, saw your comment, and that is very impressive for this photo as the soft edges seem to give it an almost 3d look.
Great colors, composition and note to go with it.
