Anawhata is a spectacular beach that can only be reached by foot therefore is far less busy than the more accessible beaches in the Waitakeres.

Hi Tim - I might like a smidge more sky above the headland, but this is a lovely beach scene with the foreground rocks adding depth and perspective - you really know how to capture images like this. Really nice light with some lovely tones and a glassy texture to the seawater on the beach. Nice shot.

You got some amazing clarity in this shot Tim! I love the reflections in the sand and water! Nice work on this, is it HDDR? Love that green moss, it glows! your lighting is perfect here, B-)
Linda

It's really a spectacular view Tim. This is so clear and so bright... such wonderful colors due to the beautiful low light of the sun... A beauty Tim, one of your best so far!

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Tim,
great seascape shot, nice and sharp plus I like that green slimy stuff in the FG, the hills have a slight look of a topaz filter
cheers
Jack

Hello Tim,

It may be a spactacular beach but your capture has certainly proved that! This is stunning!
The detailed rocks, pool and seaweed hold the f/g interest before the eyes stray to that midway reflective pool, immersed in wonderful colours; then, the b/g of rocky cliffs and statue-like stones, surrounded by the blue of the sea and the sky. It's superb!
I have seen some great shots from N.Z. and this is one of the best!
Straight into my favourites!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

"can only be reached by foot".....but it is the paradise....
Simply perfect like your shot......
I continue to dream...maybe one day...!!!!
Thanks to make me travel across your magical beaches....!
Claude

Haven't looked at TL's photos for a while and I have clicked on many of your West Coast pics Tim - they are all excellent and I can't find any that are better than the other.
Love this one though - especially as my eye is drawn to the unusual rock hole in the foreground. And the reflections and colours of the sky on the wet sand.
Anawhata is a place I've never visited before. It looks while worth a visit maybe next tiome i'm out that way.

PS 100% different from Fiji - I love FIJI, and we had a super holiday there...
