[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"My name is Jack... and I am an addict" - I haven't done a sunrise for a month or two so was starting to get withdrawal symptoms.
This is from the cliffs in Devonport near Narrow Neck Beach

ISO100 F11 2secs + grad ND4 Cokin filter (probably should have used the ND8)
The grad filter did a reasonable job of darkening the sky allowing for the FG to be exposed but I added a dark to transparent gradient from the top RHS and a light to transparent gradient from the bottom LHS, which has given it the look of a fill flash.

Hi Jack,
Haha, gotta love the description. Seems like you have a bit of everything in this shot, good to see a sunrise photo from you again. Great use of the ND4 grad filter, the colour of the sky is amazing. I like how you've managed to catch the sun beaming through the trees too, it all appears very sharp and clear. Bravo.

TFS,
Scott.

"My name is Janice... and I was an addict!!"
And I wish I was again...

Whatever you've done with your Cokin filters - well done. The lighting on the FG is great, showing off the weeds and onion flowers. And then we have the lovely colours in the sky over Rangitoto - just brilliant Jack... And the reflection of the sun on the leaves - they look great

So pleased you haven't lost your touch
Janice

"My name is Ralph ... I am a Topaz addict!!"

Love the sun filtering through the tree and throwing the light on the other vegetation.

Nice colours.

Well done.

I like a nice picture - very well

nice colour play
good illumination
nice cutting

Greeting Jürgen

Hello Jack

I would crop way most of the fg green grass, which we've all seen before, & does nothing to enhance the shot. I could do a quick workshop, if you wish. Tfs. The bg sunset is superb.

I like this shot very much. The detail in the small red flowers falling diagonally across the scene adds something special. I have to admit, however, that I agree with Chris. I tried cropping out the bottom section(only the lighter coloured greenery which seems a little overexposed to me) and feel the wider layout suits the shot nicely.

Hi Jack,
Nice colors sky and well framed with the trees and branches, beautiful composition of this sunrise..
Excellent POV. with a fill flash..
well done.
Michel
