For sure you will get the practice with your camera to overcome the snails pace.
As suggestion, try to take the subjects out from the center. This will favor composition and improve your photos. In case it is not possible, work on PS later, cropping some of the sides.

I read a lot about these add on macro attachements and had mixed feelings about what the result might be.
This seems to be ok.
The details on the snail and it's shell are very clear. A good result.
