Another photo from the abandoned Cement Works at Warkworth.
The heart of Warkworth is its river. The Mahurangi, once a lifeline for the village, with steamboats and scows plying the coast and providing a much-needed link with Auckland.
Warkworth’s rich heritage is reflected in its buildings and sites of historic interest. Its cafes, specialist shops and character architecture make it a charming village and the commercial hub of the area.
Warkworth – just an hour’s drive from New Zealand’s largest city and a world away in terms of character and pace - is also the gateway to the Matakana Coast Wine Country, one of the most desirable places to visit in New Zealand.
PP work involved a perspective adjustment and then boosted the detail and colours using the Topaz Adjust filter in Photoshop.

I am a real fan of that 'overgrown ruins' kind of shot. Althogh the ages and history are miles different, this has an Angkor Wat kind of feeling to it.
Good work with the Topaz filter.
In honesty I think this would've worked better with a narrower vertical composition, cropped more tightly on the right with some space to the left?

Hi Ralph,
Nice shot of these ruins, the detail and colours are great. We have a Warkworth close to where I live in Northumberland, it has a beautiful castle there which dates back to the 13th century. TFS

Hi Ralph,
Cool shot mate, the contrast within the trees makes this look quite empowering. Great cloud coverage too, the colour of the sky looks a bit too blue but you seem to have nailed the textures and sharpness. A fine job.
TFS,
Scott.
