[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was my first day in NZ. We were heading from Queenstown to Bluff and suddenly, this huge storm cloud sit on the nearby mountain to cover the sky. The sun was going down so it could find the way to shine through between the sky and the ground.
I was stunned. never seen such a skyscape. I took a couple of shots before the rain was washing us away :)

PP: I scanned the pic from the negative again, and improve it a bit with contrast to highlight the storm cloud!
Camera info: I haven't got so much info, I used my old Olympus IS-10 in auto mode... It was the best choice considering the rain was coming fast :)

Excellent shine and colours, Tom! What a drama is going on here! Nicely composed, and brave to use the camera in such a dangerous conditions :)
I also like how the rainbow echoed the shape of the mountain. Great shot, I can smell the comming storms... fresh and fatal :)

Amazing how you got the dark gry clouds, the golden sun and and a rainbow. You must put this in the "Decisive Moment" category. Def'ly belongs there. Lovely capture and TFS

Nice shot Tom, rainbow, dark clouds, sun, all in one, excellent captured! It look a bit weird but it is something we don't see everyday. I like the colours contrast, very well done, thanks for sharing. :)

Asolutely stunning shot Tom. Great view and colours in every pixel. The golden yellow landscape lit by the sun, which is gradually being covered by the dark clouds and as if all that was not enough, there's also a beautiful rainbow. Wonderful capture. TFS.

Tom,

Great landscape! It would not be the same without that overpowering storm cloud. My only wish is that the rainbow was more apparent and vivid. This would be a good opportunity to post process to intensify the colors.

Well, I guess that by now pretty much everything has been said about this photo. It's one of those moments that really makes it worth while to carry a camera with us, isn't it??

Tom the picture has everything - the mood, the colour, the story and of course the rainbow and that beautiful yellow of the hill. It has the magical quality of that one split moment... all things beautiful caught together in their glory. A great... great catch...

powerfull and divine. Gorgeus view as it is but with this rainbow... Like a scene from Wizard of Oz. You should wrote capital THE in inthe title :)
