[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Millstream Falls is reputedly the widest falls in Australia & is located on the western Atherton Tablelands behind Cairns. The nearest town is pronounced as Ravens' Hoe, not 'Raven-shoe'.

"Millstream Falls is reputedly Australia’s widest single-drop waterfall. The falls flow over the edge of a columnar basalt lava flow, a legacy of the Atherton Tableland’s volcanic past. Millstream Falls National Park also protects a dry open woodland remnant on the tableland and is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Here, in the rain shadow of the eastern dividing ranges, the woodland is dominated by bloodwoods and stringybarks. Tall open forest of majestic rose gums is protected in nearby Millstream Conservation Park."

Hi Chris,

Beautiful waterfalls! Great colour & strong movement in the water. I'm kicking myself for not going out myself and discovering all these places when I used to live there. I guess we appreciate things more when we miss them.

Well done & TFS :)

P.S. Thank you very much for your kind comments.

O.K. an experienced photographer like you picks the right shutter speed to make no ice out of water. You also picked the right position to make it as beautiful as possible. Good capture.

What a great sight this must be there.

Take care, Yan :)

Hi Chris,

Beautiful waterfall, the look and wonderful
peace place and a lot of reflections.
Congratulations, I adored the look!

Deserted again. No people. People would add 'life' and certainly add a sense of scale. I remarked last time that I so rarely see people in your shots but I do remember one, where there were sheep in the very far distance and the people were standing on the other side of a miniature gorge. Essential in that shot and very useful in others.
One day, you will give is a portrait of a human face?
Make a break. See people for what they are - the most interesting aspect of this planet, above all else.

Another excellent nature shot. Good control over light! This one could also make a very smart one on a slow shutterspeed?
Well done
