Old Wine
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Tonights theme at the local photography club was "Positive Aging". With no real examples of old people doing young things in my stock photographs I had to think quick and prepared this tonight. I think it still fits the theme.
The wine is very old and probably tastes like vinigar now. I didn't open it, the glasses are filled with straight red-current cordial ;) |

I like the way you played with the DOF here, as well as incorporating light reflections in the glasses. The challenge was not easy on howmuch space to give to the two subjects, but, as it is, it looks really good. You should try the wine. If kept in good aging conditions, it shouldn't be bad at all. Cheers, and a hug to Princey!

I defenatly think this suits the theme Chris. An old nice vine is often beleived to be a possetive experience (but as you say, it probably taste like vinigar by now);) I like the DoF you used, keeping the glaces out of focus. Hope you enjoyied the cordial :)

Lovely macro shot Chris, wonderful soft colours.
Beautiful DoF and wonderful brown hues. I think that you have achieved the mood and theme quite well with this shot Chris, well done, good work.

Nice shot Chris. Lovely old wine label, and the cordial in the glasses creates a great effect as well. I've been thinking about taking a couple of shots of some of the wine in my cellar (really just a cupboard :P) and this has given me a few ideas.
Chug-a-lug! ;)

Hi Chris, ooking at your very impressive gallery I can only say Wauw!
Lots of quality, but above all variety of subjects and that needs skill.
This looks like an advertisement for Yalumba, great composition, depth and typical wine-mood you captured here.
I have good memories of this wine,in 1985 I spent 10 months in WA drinking 5 liter cascs of this stuff!
Im certainly going to follow your work more.
Regards from jan.
Why would you think the wine turn vinigar? Some wine can aged very well. Not long ago, I had the chance to sip a Bordeaux (Pauillac) that was 38 years old and it was absolutly delicious. And in Dublin there was a high-class restaurant (now closed) where I would sometime have business dinner that was selling a bordeaux (I think a Chateaux Laffite - St Emilion) from 1890 or so. Although it cost about 4,000 US$ I was assured by the sommelier it was still very drinkable.
