You might see this pic. of mine at TE. I decide to post it here since I made some changes on it, 'cos I wasn't really satisfied with that one.
Thanks to your advice I learnt a lot :) so here is the result...

Lake Wakatipu
"During the Ice Ages the enormous Hollyford Glacier reached as far as Martins Bay on the west coast and flowed over Key Summit on the main divide where it branched into the Eglinton Valley and the Greenstone Valley. The Greenstone Valley glacier split into two at the Sly Burn and reaches as far as Mavora Lakes in the south and Lake Wakatipu in the East."

"Maori legend has it that the lake is actually a sleeping giant and seen from above. The rise and fall of the lake waters adds to its mystic where the locals say its actually the heartbeat of the slumbering giant not yet put to rest."

Hi Tom.
Yes, this is much improved over the previous :)
The blown-out clouds are a problem very often seen, and I have given some thought to using ND filters to avoid it.
This is truly a fine photo now.

Sheldon (shel)

I assumed you cropped it significantly but what you have here works very well. In addition to a graduated ND, a polariser sometimes works (depends on sun) and I have even used a combination of the two to tame the highlights. Well done, B

Neat and calm. Well composed photo ...brilliant colors.

This is probably one of the BEST landscapes I have seen to date!
I guess Peter Jackson (director of LOTR) very well knew why he should film in Nea Zealand. With landscapes like these....

I want to go back!!!!
Hi ToM, let's have a trip back to New Zealand! It is the most amazing place in the world (I believe).
Thanks for sharing this picture with us, it reminds me on my lovely time in Queenstown.
Cheers,
Sabrina

Wonderful panorama. I really enjoy the DOF and sharpness. Nice transition from lots of details of the left side of the photo to the silhouette on the right, accentuating the clouds and its shadow on water. Beautiful colors. TFS.

This is one of my favourites in your gallery ToM. Nice colours and nice depth. Good use of the foreground to create that depth.
