I can't believe this is the result you got from your first attempt, Din. How much better is it going to look once you've had some practice? :-D
I think it came out great. The focused athlete in action, and the blurry background represented with just the meaning and detail it has to the cyclist - it's just kind of like a tunnel he is driving through, aiming to come in first. Very well done, and I also think the desaturation was a fine choice here. I'm putting this into Bryan's related theme.

Well, i'd say you did great with the paning. managed better then i did on my first time :) Desaturating teh background worked well to bring him out even more. Well done Din.

A bit of a pity you couldn't include more of the legs, especially because of that kind of sport, but even though a very well executed work Din!

I like your experimenting shot,

Good speed, good capture, Yes Din indee a little more leggs mayby, very good job.

Nice shot Din, combining action with 'art' is not easily done, but the desaturation has worked well here. Great shot, will have to try this sometime. (motion shot, not cycling).

Good experimenting, and the idea to make the background in B&W is good too. nice shot.

Really great experiment Din! I like this alot - must try it sometime. I like what you have done in the post processing too - desaturation. For some reason, I am quite fascinated with this technique - makes the subject the focus. Well done.

Wow, extra motion blur and super shrpness of the biker. The b/w background works perfect here and highlights the saturated colors. A great shot, Din.

excellent shot Din, what else can i say? everything looks great in your picture, well done

this is very well done Din. the sense of motion is well conveyed. i like the desaturated background. good work.

For your first attempt at panning, it's turned out rather well. The blurred background really shows the speed motion.
Perhaps more of the bike would be even better.
Great job.

I like the movement and the way you captured this is interesting and the contrast is some well done work in PS8? I never knew there was 8 I've heard of Photoshop CS and 7.0
