Our first view of the Lanin Volcano, mid-morning in early autumn.
Both of us had never before seen the like -- a more perfectly formed peak. I especially liked the combination of mountain, headland plateaux, the hay field with its modern hay rolls across the road, the large poplar (?) or aspen (?) tree in the field (hey, I'm a city person), the shadows on the pavement cast by trees behind me and even the power lines over the field. This was yet another of the beautiful and unexpected sights caught on a driving trip around southern Argentina. |
