The Moreno Skillful Glacier (Glaciar Perito Moreno) is located in the Southern province of Santa Cruz, Argentina. Pascacio Moreno was an Expert who in Century XIX was entrusted by the Government to recognize and explore territories of Patagonia. Its mission was in addition to recognize and to demarcate the limits with the Chile neighbor. It was thanks to the Moreno Expert that settled down like limits "high Mountains" and the "watersheds", of this form the Argentine Republic could consolidate his sovereignty on the patagonics territories, since all river that was born in the mountain range and ended at the Atlantic would be Argentine territory until its east and the same it happened with the rivers that end at the Pacific with Chile. To grief that the Glacier takes its name, the Expert never saw personally. In his book of trips it left writing that saw in the Argentino Lake "rest of ice floating the drift" and listened to "strange explosions behind mountains". Those explosions were not another thing that the impressive pieces of ice (some of sizes of buildings) coming off itself the glacier. In my visit to the beautiful natural munument, I could see as large as come off a piece ice as a building of 70 meters height, that when falling generated a Tzunami of considerable dimensions. By a life's irony , never I thought that similar mass of ice went to be given off and had my contained camera! (never me I will pardon it), but the sensation of being able to see hear the shouts of joy of the multitude on the footbridges will be for always in my retina. This is another postcard of the Wonderful land of the South.

Para los que vivimos en el trópico una imagen de este tipo es realmente impresiónate, y te agradezco que la compartas porque con esta podemos ver algo que de otro modelo sería difícil.
De tu fotografía me encanta el tono azulado del glaciar, la nitidez de toda la imagen esta especial y muy bien tomados los blancos.

This is great! Mauro. It is something we don't get many pictures of here most likely because they are usually so remote. Reminds me of the 'Immigrant's Song' by Led Zeppelin. "Lived in the land of the ice and snow..."

Te pasaste en esta , che...! El POV es muy bueno, la composición casi exclusivamente en tonos frios (bueno, no era para menos)es maravillosa, como los detalles capatados.
LKa iluminación es super, a pesar del sol, sin sobre exponer nada.

Mira que son impresionantes los glaciares.El Perito Moreno es una maravilla yo estuve allí hace ya algunos años y recuerdo que me encantó toda esa zona ,una verdadera maravilla.
Tu foto ,me gusta mucho, no tengo palabras para describirla..... sólo, que el azul del hielo es impresionante,como toda la foto.

We always imagine Argantine is a sunny country eventhoug i know Patogania is so so cold!

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful image. I hope these glaciers never leave the face of our precious Earth! It worries me you know, all the things I'm learning this semester about the problems with heating and glacial bodies.

The colours you captured in this photo are great, very cold and down to the point. The glacier stands out nicely due to that mountain behind it, and I think those trees in the front are nice, but it would also be nice without them. But whatever, that hardly matters. Well done Mauro!

WOW WOW WOW! I am impressed with this composition. The blues in this pack ice are astounding and the POV equally so. I would love to travel around South America before I get too old. This is one continent I have always wanted to capture.

hola, impresionante foto del glaciar, el azul salio perfecto, es la pasarela de mas abajo no? yo no llegue hasta ahi abajo porque estaba cerrada por reformas, estan haciendo la nueva de metal.
