Go easy on me here , he he , not the best of scanned but this is one print among many others actually that has been sitting in a box useless so to speak but it is one of my favorites taken on our trip to Patagonian Argentina in Nov 2001 , a few years before i got finally tempted by digital photography .This is a view from afar of the Fitzroy Range , the Fitzroy itself the highest of the group of peaks here , a mecca for hikers, climbers , campers and onlookers why not , a sight to behold. We , my wife and i , came all the way down here for the hiking and enjoyed fine weather throughout our stay there at the main campground !
Played with the sky a little , perhaps too nuch ,lol , it was basically grey except for a few touches of bluish sky that seemed to show through somewhat so i have taken advantage of this blue tint there to spread it over by brushing to enhance some more , then applied 'local contrast ' to bring it out., sharpened whilst striving hard to keep the noise down as much as i could , bordered and added text,
Thanks for looking,
Carol

Weather it is film or digital the basic skills of the person with the camera show through. Your composition is very good - using the right third for the car and the highest of the peaks. You also did a good job trying to salvage the sky. Cheers
Dan

Hi Carol,
Great shot from your archives, I think it was worth posting it. The background mountains are amazing, the landscape is stunning there. Well captured shot, perhaps a little bit more saturation would have helped for more vivid colours, but still a good post. It was a good idea to include the dirt road and jeep as well. TFS,
Greetings,
Kristof

Those peaks are something else Carol - nothing like I've ever seen before. No matter if the sky is not so good - still a good scan and nice composition with the road leading into the distance, and the truck also adds a sense of scale. (I also have many old photos of two trips to Europe. Wish I had a scanner - although they likely aren't very good quality. I haven't looked at them in a long time.)

Composición exclente pero le falta algo de saturación y color ,con todo ,es fantástica...

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!! TFS

hi !

I have mixed feelings about this image. composition is impecable, specially the line of the road, the truck and the massive peack at the back.
I don't feel like being too comfortable with colour, may be it's the old print's aging or the scanning, but the colour of the hillls is too unnatural to me ( too brownnish ) , and the line of the road is slightly off horizon line.
I made a workshop to state my point and also a b&w version I hope you may like it.
Anyway southern Patagonia is really a magic place to be, it's sky and landscapes are really impressive.

Hi Carol,
An impressive scene. The mountain looks kind of scary. For photo that is scanned from an old print, the quality is pretty good.

Hola Carol,
preciosa escena y pov.
excelente presentación y tonos.
saludos amiga.

HI Carol

Wow! Now THESE mountains are impressive! Awesome sense of scale, the inclusion of the car certainly helps this. Superb POV used. Looks like a very dramatic and beautiful location.

Awesome! TFS.

Yep, not the best scan I've ever seen Carol - but you've captured a splendid view. Nicely composed and the car adds to the scene if only to show the immensity of it all..
I'd be interested top know the focal length and the lens you used here - or approx if you can't remember!!

Cheers
David

Good composition. You did a good job on the sky !
I would try to boost the green, bit more vivid
