| These tufts of grass grow practically everywhere in the Bolivian andes, as long as you stay beneath 4500m altitude. In some places the center of such tufts die out, leaving only a thin ring of yellow grass on the outside. Often enough you’ll see patches of small black lama droppings in these grassy rings. Lamas are quite selective in their choice of toilet areas. They will walk to the nearest lama dropping spot and add their own to the rest. I guess in this area there weren’t many lamas: lucky grasses. |
