[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Typical view of Laguna Verde and Volcan Licancabur. Next to Laguna Verde is Laguna Blanca where many flamingos can be found. In Laguna Verde however, just 200 metres away you'll not find a single flamingo. The reason is that this 17 square kilometer lake is poisoned with arsenic which seeps from the volcano Licancabur and its neighbour into the lake. It gives the lake a bluegreen colour that can only be seen in its full glory when there is a lot of wind. When I took this picture wind was blowing at an estimated 90 km/h: great conditions! Enjoy
Regards.

Excellent colors captured here Joris.. I love the rich deep textures and colors of the big hills/mountains.

However, the lighting/contrast looks a bit overblown/overdone in my opinion. Try messing with the levels or lessening the brightness to make it look more natural.
TFS!

G'Day,
It looks such a desolate place. Flamingos would make it less desolate, but I can understand their reluctance. I like the deep colour of the sky and turquiose of the lake. A very shape image well composed.
