Salar de Uyuni

The Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia, is one of the few places in the world where you can experience the incredible feeling of being on another planet. Usually familiar with large areas covered by water (oceans, seas and large lakes), snow (Northern Europe and America) and sand (deserts of North Africa, Asia and Australia), with apparent surprise that is sighted for the first time this resplendent desert salt, encouraged by a multitude of reflections of light in crystals of direct exposure to the sun. It feels astonishing.

If during the day, the Salar de Uyuni and surprised that it overshadows any image may exist in our imagination is certainly the end of the night, that this landscape is presented in a more surreal. When there is, simultaneously, to a Sunset, west and the moon at birth, in the East, the scene beyond any description. At night, the sky completely clear, the celestial sphere of stars inhabits is, in number as great as ever, at any time, the human eye could reach. The thousands of miles from any significant source of artificial light, the salar is a real paradise for astronomy enthusiasts who want to become familiar with the panorama of stars in the hemisphere south of the torrid sun noon, the temperature can easily drop for values below zero at night.

Hi Sergio

very attractive gradient on the sky, almost unreal, or surreal
and the contrast with the white sand is simply great...
this scene is beyond charming and only by looking at this fabulous
image, am sure the experience of being there is overwhelming enough,
I really like those tents, or huts with orange roof tops against the blue.. great presentation and thx for the useful note too...

greetings Sergio

Ola Sergio

This must be a very high elevation judging from the intense blue sky. I like the warm cold colour contrast between the red tiled roof & the blue sky too. Good sharpness & framing & well exposed on the salt, that resembles snow. Parabens!

Bom dia Sergio,
Os Andes são o local ideal para grandes voos e a grandeza dessa foto - uma das melhores que já vi na minha vida - não me surpreende vida de um Harpya.
Bom fim de semana com esta bela foto,
Raimundo

Hello Sergio,
After seeing this photo of Salar de Uyuni and other Bolivian photos from your gallery, I have decided to start saving (piggy bank perhaps). I would like to visit Bolivia someday. The blue sky is most appealing, the sand indeed looks like it could be from another planet, and your Note description of an evening in Salar just intensified my appetite. Well done and best regards...

Brilliant light Sergio and outstanding colour and contrast!! Really does look isolated!
I feel though that the image quality isn't up to your usual sharp standard - quite pixellated and there are many dust sensor spots in the blue sky that could be cloned out.
