Salar



The Salar de Uyuni extends to lose sight of hacking here and there some 'islands' of land, which retain the most valuable for wildlife and flora of these stops: the water. For a moment, the limits of this immense salt mixes with the skyline; elsewhere, is to cut away the ridge of the Andes, and in its' margins' home villages and are the places inhabited by men and women who benefit from the exploitation of salt your livelihood. Features the rustic characteristics of the Andean peoples, carved by the high mountain climate and the work, plus a skin more dry and darkened by the sun reflected in the crystals. The inhabitants of the salar scrape the salt from the surface to protect the lips and mouth with tissues and eyes with sunglasses. It is a life of extreme hardship, to which the mines are the only option.

Wow, fantastic place Sergio.. The deepened blue of the sky is such a stark contrast to the white salt. Must be a very harsh environment! Looks like a little OE on the little piles of salt, and on close inspection, something odd in the foreground .. maybe some cloning?
Still a very eye-catching shot .. white frame is perfect.
