Hi everyone

The mountainbike-trip from La Cumbre (near La Paz at 4600m) to Coroico (1100m) follows the world's most dangerous road 'The Death Road' or the 'El Camino de la Muerte'. Nowadays only mountainbikers and a few jeeps descend this way. Since a few years there's a better road on the other side of the valley. Before the safer alternative trucks and busses descended and ascended the death road! And every year still, the Death Road claims victims (tourists and locals). Here we were standing at the famous 'Balcony' where the cliff drops down 600m. The view is spectacular, the ride is even better!

Some facts:
- The Death Road got it's name after 8 Israeli travellers were killed in a jeep accident on that road in December 1999.
- Above it was 0°C. In Coroico 33°C
- The route is 60km long and drops down 3500m
- Numerous dogs line the road in the higher regions. Locals claim they are the reïncarnations of all the people who have ever fell into the abyss. (In fact, the dogs stand there because truck drivers throw their leftovers - from food they bought in La Paz - out of the window.)

Ok, it's dangerous in some places, but a must do none the less!!!

this photo reminds me of my aunt's place where i'm supposed to be on the bus that fell down and killed almost 100 passengers. sad thoughts lol... nice shot though it needs some color adjustment.

J'aurai peut être apporté une petite touche de saturation en + pour faire ressortir le mur végétal

That is some view and shot!
Vertical and a long drop-aptly named.
I have ridden on buses in South America and it can be tenuous at best!

Hi Joris, another spectacular treat! - a part of the world unknown to me until now... I would have been freaking out if I were you up on that cliff-that drop is way way to deep!
Amazing shot! Composition is great, it could be a little richer in colour...a tad washed out, but in the big scheme of things it's just a minor thing!
Great photo! Lucky for experiencing that!

Ha!

That's nice idea... and good object but I will make some post processing here ;) I think that some of the colors are blank and maybe the need more saturation ;)
