FLOATING RESIDENCE-MANAUS, BRAZIL
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I am cruising the Amazon River to get to the area where there is a best viewing of the meeting of the waters, where the black waters of Rio Negro meets the brown waters of the Amazon. Every little island is fringed on the banks with floating residences. This is one good example. The residence itself is on the far end. The red structure is where they do business. They use it as a temporary storage for the products they sell or transport by water. The structure in front is a closed storage and utility building. They seldom have structures on land unless it is on a high elevation because the water level can fluctuate or recede to a maximum of 14 feet in 24 hours. At night you can see boats tied to the red structure. |

Nice capture, Andre'! The composition is well balanced, and the light is very nice. The waves in the foreground give a nice sense of movement. Well done!
Hello Andre,
Here you're on top of the largest reservoir of fresh water in the world, and you give us an interesting view of everyday life in the region!
Well composed photograph, great colours and fine details...
The diagonal waves from your boat add life!
Greetings,
Pablo -
