[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a part of the city of Manaus floating harbor. The whole city dock is designed as a floating harbor because not because of the tide changes but because the Amazon River swells yearly, and could go up to ten feet even if there is no storm. During spring time a lot of water comes from the Andes mountains and it eventually comes down to the Amazon River through its tributaries that branches out to Venezuela and Colombia.

This was taken from the ship's deck. The oversaturation of the boats roof was intentional. Notice also the black waters of the Amazon River.

For more pictures of the Amazon River take a look at my postings in TrekEarth THE AMAZON RIVER and you may look at my Theme here at TL FACES AND IMAGES OF AMAZON RIVER

Hi Andre
Good picture. Very nice view of the boats from above. I like how you increased the saturation of the roofs.
Thanks for the interesting note about the harbor. I didn't know about it.
Regards
Nilton

Hi Andre- another great shot from your trip to the Amazon- I am really enjoying this series- great informational note about the floating harbor as well! Very good composition with the series of three colorfully roofed boats-taken from a great angle! Well done my friend!

Best wishes,
Steve

Very interesting POV. Nice picture quality too.

Nice one, Andre'! As a vacation shot, this is beyond the obvious. As a photo, it's a good composition and a good use of the ambient colours. Great job!

Very interesting composition and great colour combination with the boat roofs & the quay. Very good POV looking down on the boats and nice diagonals. Well done!

Great angle. Good idea to saturate the colours of the boats. Adds some necessary colour. Fascinating the black water. Never seen it.
