This picture was taken during a ship cruise through a most beautifull region called Estreito de Breves, in the Amazon basin.
When large cruise ships pass by, the people of the region get close to it on their canoes hoping to get some of the goodies that the passengers toss to them. Things like soda cans, food, etc. Sort of like pigeons gathering around a person tossing cornseeds.....

The picture was taken with a cannon AE1-program, and a 200mm telefoto(which is responsible for the lack of sharpness, due to the ship´s motion).

I used ektachrome film, but actually developped it on a c-41 negative process. That´s what made the colors shift somewhat and threw the contrast up into the clouds! You should realize it´s a 1992 picture, when such lab approaches were far more popular than photoshopping....

Hello Fabio,
And you are right, this shot comes as a fresh breath of natural rather than a result of photoshopping:-). Not that i am agains it, i use photoshop regulalrly. ANyway about the shot i like the fluid nature of the water that the overexposure renders. and the blur kind of makes the shot natural and its not meant to be a picture perfect shot as real life hardly is... i hope i am not off tangent. Thanks for posting. Hope to see more.Bye for now.

Hi Fabio
Looks nice even though these circumstances :) But i would convert it into black and white, then the unnatural colors are eliminated...
I've tried it, hope you don't mind :)

Welcome to TL, Fabio. Very interesting shot and I like the effect you got with the development of the film, a bit surreal but very interesting. Nicely composed as well. Well done!

The capture is good, even though by today's standards the sharpness and the effects may be off. None the less, a good capture of daily life in the particular area.

this looks like a shot that could be found in national geographic

Super shot Fabio
The diagonal works excellent here. TFS and bye
