THE CROK NEEDS SUN SCREEN!

Walking into the AMAZON jungle, there are places where it is possible to get very close to wild nature. I went to see the VITORIA REGIA, the biggest water lily, which has a white flower that only opens at night and turn pink during the first hours of the day. It may get as big as 2,5m diameter and supports up to 40kg (a small crocodile). The British named it after Queen Vitoria when the German explorer Schomburg brought seeds to the English palace gardens. The juice extracted from its roots it is used by the Indians as black paint for hair.
And with all this I was lucky to have a big CROCODILE basking in the sun when I go there.

PS processing was curve adjustment, increase crok’s colors and better light for the reflections. No cropping was done.

O CROCODILO PRECISA DE PROTETOR SOLAR!

Andando pela selva amazônica, existem lugares aonde é possível chegar bem perto da natureza selvagem. Fui ver as vitória regias, a qual tem uma flor branca que só se abre a noite e com a luz do sol fica rosa, e se fecha até as 9 da manhã. Pode chegar a 2,5m de diametro e suportar o peso de um crocodilo pequeno (40kg). Foi nomeada em homenagem a rainha Victoria, quando o explorador alemão Schomburg levou suas sementes para os jardins do palácio inglês. O suco extraído de suas raizes é utilizado pelos índios como tintura negra para os cabelos (tablete Santo Antonio?? :)

PS foi ajuste de curva, melhorar as cores do jacaré e as luzes das reflexões do céu na água. Não foram feitos cortes.

Achei excelente esta foto por 2 motivos básicos (tecnicamente falando): colocastes o crocodilo descentralizado,mantendo toda a cena dentro de foco e valorizastes a imensidão das vitórias régias, proporcionada pela grande angular. Parabéns

Bonito tiro,
quando fui com meu pai no Amazonas, eu ainda era pequeno, nos fomos em uma reserva indigena, no qual tenho alguns postado.
e me lembro destas grandes vitoria-regia.
Uma coisa interessante é que eu não sabia sobre a tintura de suas raizes, Agora eu sei de onde vem o nome " Tablete Santo Antonio ". hahahaha.......
Porque voce não coloca elas em 800x600, acho que o visual causaria mais impacto!

Of course here the subject to me is more the whole exotic environment than the croc or even the water lillies. Nice sense of depth and beautifully framed. Some people might find it busy but I personally like this kind of complexity in a shot.
