[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Portulaca (purslane) is the type genus of the purslane family Portulacaceae, comprising about 40-100 species (probably much fewer and potentially far far more) found in the tropics and warm temperate regions. It is also sometimes known as Rose Moss or more commonly Moss Roses.

Common Purslane Portulaca oleracea is widely considered an edible plant, and in some areas an invasive type of weed. Some Portulaca species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including The Nutmeg.

Purslane can be eaten raw or cooked, and lends itself to stir fry dishes. Some say it has a slight lemon-like taste and mushroom-like texture. It is relatively easy to grow in more northern climates, including the New England area in the United States."

A curious fact is that the flowers only opens when the sun is shining. And the petals´ brightness is beautiful, strong and natural.

Detalhe curioso é que essas flores só abrem sob luz solar. Quando o céu está nublado ou escuro, elas se fecham.

Gostaria de salientar que essa aparência perolizada não é excesso de nitidez, é natural.

No momento em que tirei a foto, o dia apresentava fortíssima luminosidade e vento, fatos que dificultaram a captura, pois as flores brilhavam muito (OE) e, devido ao seu pequeno tamanho (ver WS), elas eram movimentadas intensamente. Além disso, não utilizei tripé (fiz a foto no modo super macro), sem utilização de lentes adicionais.

Utilizando o Photoshop, redimensionei, alterei muito pouco o contraste (+3) e a nitidez (radius 0,3 pixel), e adicionei moldura e assinatura à foto.

The satin texture of the petals are beautifully emphasized with the existing light. I know how teensy portulacas are, and you have done quite well in this macro shot. My compliments....Danilo

Hi Bruno, this is one of my garden favorites. I like the way you have captured the light on the petals, giving a soft yet regal texture. A great point of view for this macro.
