Hi Jack
As a portrait I think you've chosen a pretty subject, which is a great start. I would suggest that sharpness is lacking a little, and shallower DOF would have brought her out more against the background. You could possibly have chosen a slightly different point of view. I look forward to seeing what else you give us.
