I woke up a bit homesick today and I decided to cheerup. So I'm uploading a photo from my home country. I borrow this one from my TE gallery, since all my good photos from Brazil are there.

*************************************************
Iguacu Falls are a located at the "Three borders" area: Brasil-Argentina-Paraguai. While in the dry season the water seems more placid, it's in the rainy season that the waters really show their power. Today, there are more than 200 falls in the area, the most famous one being "A garganta do Diabo" -the devil's throat. Once upon a time this area had twice as much waterfalls, but some of them "died" for the greater good. They helped us to fill up a reservoir and run the biggest Hydroeletric power station in South America (maybe in the world, I'm not sure). This picture was taken on the Brazilian side, during the rain season.
***********************************************

No big work here. Just This photo was originaly in 35mm Scanned to digital,so it was needed to adjust levels, colour balance, saturation, and sharpen a bit. Add frame and voila!

take care everybody, Stef

almost as beautiful as swiss mountains ;-)
I like the colors, only green and white. would love to visit Brazil, would you be my guide ?

how wonderful to see a shot from your homeland Stef :-) i must go check out your TE account to see more.. such a beautiful place... so green and lush and i've always loved waterfalls.. stunning... and i know what you mean about the homesickness... i'm suffering from it a lot right now... although at the moment it feels like almost anywhere away from here would be more like home...

i'm sorry i havent been able to comment on your shots for a few days.. like i say i've been pretty burned out and havent been able to do much... but i hope to be back soon.. and thank you so much for the lovely letters you've sent me... you cant imagine how much they have made me smile and cheered me up in sad moments... you're a real friend my dear and i'll reply as soon as i can :-)

big hugs,
Ayda

Great image
I love all the green and the waterfalls, fantastic composition and very nicely framed.
Good job Stefania

This is breath-taking! And to think that this stunning view was just in your back yard. No wonder you are homesick!

I pray it'll still be there when you eventually go back.

Great shot, and I love the mist. Interesting note too.

Hi Stef,
This is amazing! The picture is very powerful, I wonder what would it be like to actually stand there and look at the falls. I like your notes also. It saddens me very much when the nature has to "die" for the "greater good". There is no such thing.

I can see why you get homesick, your image is great, very nicely composed and presented.

Que foto linda, Stef! eu gostei muito do contraste do verde com o branco da espuma das águas.. ficou muito bom ;) eu adoraria visitar Foz do Iguaçu.. um dia, quem sabe.. hehe

Hi Stefania

A superb pov of this spectacular landscape. The green color tones suggest a tropical environment. I like the rising mist at the background. Well done!

gostei mto do tom esverdeado das árvores. deram um look totalmente diferente das outras fotos já tiradas lá.

Hi Stef
The size of this waterfall is mind blowing ... I am pretty sure that it puts the Niagara Falls to shame (NFalls is way too commericialized anyways).. I love your composition of white water and greenry
PS: ne ways nice to know that you are on TE too ... I am much more active on TE
c you there
cheers ... sarju

Looking at this picture, I feel like I can hear the loud sound of water beating hardly to the bottom rock, but the foliages are a bit unnaturally green, aren't them?
