Takeoff

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This picture was taken during a visit to the Pedra Grande, a huge rock on top of a mountain where practitioners of paragliding and delta wings use to take off from.
It was a perfect day for flying, and the place was very busy, so, I had plenty of take-off opportunities to shoot. This is the one I liked most because I could capture the very decisive moment.
I didn´t do much PP, only correcting contrast and saturation, as well as cropping out some of the sky and ground.
Another major change to the original was that I flipped the image horizontally. I think I am too accustomed to the western left-to-right orientation, and I felt it was much better this way, at the expense of geographical fidelity.... |

Hi Fabio, this is a good action shot, very sharp, and I like the moment you have captured with the guy's feet just off the ground, and nothing behind him except sky.
I think it's interesting how you flipped the picture to make the action left-to-right. I never would have thought about it, but I think you're right, in our western culture we just expect motion to go from left to right, and it seems stronger when it is going that direction. It's a good thing there were not words on the equipment in the picture, because that gives you the freedom to flip the photo without causing the words to go backwards.
Thanks for sharing!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!, espero que el vuelo sea bueno!.
Me gusta el ángulo de la pendiente y la sensación de velocidad del piloto corriendo!.
Un saludo!
