A great jump by Rui Moreira.
Answering to the Jens questions:
This photo was taken at the backstage of Palácio das Artes Theater, in Belo Horizonte in a performance made especially for my essay. Rui Moreira (the model) is an important Brazilian dancer.
I used 3 light sources - professional flashes for studio, but in spite of that I couldn’t made a higher shutter speed because the space is really big and dark and the distance between the flashes and the subject was about six meters.
In my opinion, The lens flare takes part of the composition. |

Great shot!
I like the industrial look that the background adds.
The lens flare is distracting to me. It takes away my focus from the actual subject - the dancer. Maybe it could have been avoided by using a lens hood or a polarising filter.
The motion blur adds movement to the photo but I think I would prefer if it had been a stop motion shot at a higher shutter speed.
What lighting was used? Did you use a flash or was the shot taken using available light?
I miss a bit more info in the note. You could mention where the shot was taken, lighting conditions etc. Was this a public performance or is this setup by you?
Great shot!

I am surprised that people did not leave more positive critiques on this great photograph. The composition is excellent and you captured here a very exceptional body gesture from that dancer.I like it very much and the lens flare do not disturb me at all.Well done!
